Description
Large hand-embroidered cushion cover with delicate pearl embroidery, patchwork stripes, inner lining and zipper. The back is made of brown wash velvet. This high-quality and lovingly crafted pillowcase looks just as good as on the sofa and brings an oriental touch to the living room. It comes from the Katharinengebiet in the south Sinai. The Bedouin women in the region master embroidery techniques that have almost been forgotten. Fortunately, there are some women’s cooperatives that continue the traditional work and pass on the knowledge. This exceptional cushion cover is an individual unique piece, made by Markaz, a centre for craftsmen who want to keep the local handicraft techniques alive.
